Bus Stop-Arm Camera Citations Begin May 4, 2026
Reminder: Our school district has increased safety for students and bus drivers by installing cameras on school bus stop-arms and the 30-day citation warning period has closed. Beginning Monday, May 4, 2026, drivers identified as illegally passing a stopped school bus actively loading or unloading students will be issued a $1,000 citation by mail. The installation of these cameras was prompted by a rising rate of incidents of drivers illegally passing our buses. Our team of 450 dedicated bus drivers drive 27,500 miles a day to transport students to and from school throughout the county, and our School Board is committed to ensuring their safety.
